Some books hand you a mystery and let it keep changing shape as you read. The Seekers of Deer Creek does exactly that, weaving art restoration, family secrets, and the tension between protecting someone and truly knowing them. It raises more questions than answers, which makes it ideal for book clubs. These questions are not about right or wrong. They are about how much we owe the people we love and what we choose to honor or abandon in their names.
Use these questions as a starting point, not a checklist. Let one conversation lead to another, and don't be afraid to disagree. If your group likes to wander, pick a few that feel most alive to you and leave the rest for later.
Sisters: Protection and Letting Go
- 1.Vivi initially refuses to join Calla's investigation, yet she later strips Blue Mirror without permission. What do you think finally pushes her from avoidance to obsession, and was that shift believable?

- 7.Kiều tells Vivi that Tuan spent a lifetime repenting for the hide-and-seek accident that paralyzed him, and that Tuan did not kill himself. After all Vivi believed about her father, does Kiều's version of Tuan feel like the truth, or just another story the family tells itself?
