These questions assume everyone has finished the book and contain spoilers, including the ending.

This novel gives book clubs plenty to argue about because it puts loyalty, secrecy, and love under real pressure. The characters often choose between protecting the people closest to them and respecting everyone else’s right to decide for themselves, so even seemingly simple decisions can spark strong opinions.

Use these questions to keep the conversation moving rather than to guide it toward one right answer. Pick a handful that match your group’s energy, read them aloud, and let everyone respond before moving on. You can also ask people to choose the decision they would most struggle with and explain why.

Duty, Choice, and Accountability

  1. 1.Azriel defies Rhys and Feyre's order to observe but not engage and races to Rothorn Peak. Did you agree with his choice, and what does it reveal about his sense of duty versus self-sacrifice?
  2. 2.Cassian admits he cannot yet trust Nesta after she gave Bryce Quinlan the Mask, and their estrangement lasts for weeks before they reconcile. Did his hesitation feel fair, and was Nesta right to give Bryce the Mask?
  3. 3.Azriel and Elain's affair is exposed when Lucien finds Azriel in Elain's bed, leading Rhys to order Azriel away and Mor to warn about a Blood Duel. Did Rhys's order protect Lucien and alliances, or did it deny Elain's right to choose?
  4. 4.Elain tells Nesta that Lucien is nothing to her and that she did not want the mating bond, then accuses the family of wanting her only to garden, bake, or watch the baby. How did this reframe Elain, and did Nesta's confrontation help or harm her?
  5. 5.Rhys proposes rebuilding the wall using the Trove, the Cauldron, and his and Nesta's power, while Feyre suggests making him High King; he furiously refuses. What did this argument reveal about their fears for Nyx and their views of leadership?

Secrets, Trust, and Leadership

  1. 6.During the Storr negotiation, Feyre secretly uses her Made powers to probe the delegates, and the Queen of Vallahan later reveals she knew. How did this shape your view of diplomacy as performance, and was Feyre's secrecy justified?
  2. 7.Azriel withholds news of Hybern's envoy and possible alliance until after Nyx's Naming Day. Was that a protective choice or a harmful secret, especially compared with Nesta hiding her winnowing and Rhys knowing about Azriel and Elain?
  3. 8.Rhys gives Nesta the Trove and Made blades, including Gwydion, and she asks to be taught pocket realms, wards, and killing magic. How did this change your view of Rhys's trust in Nesta and of her fear of the Trove?

Family, Sanctuary, and Vulnerability

  1. 9.The Mistress of the Unseen asks whether Nyx has been dedicated to the Mother and later curses him, while Bryaxis attacks during Nyx's Naming Day. How do threats to Nyx drive Feyre and Rhys, and did they handle that vulnerability well?
  2. 10.After Bryaxis attacks the temple, Clotho bars Feyre and Nesta from the library and says all the Mother's creatures have value, even Bryaxis. Did you agree with Clotho defying the High Lady, and what does this say about sanctuary versus vengeance?
  3. 11.Tarquin and Cresseida refuse to ally with Feyre and Rhys, arguing Summer should not send soldiers to die in a war that does not affect them, while Feyre argues they owe help to humans. Whose reasoning did you find stronger?

Power, Alliances, and Endings

  1. 12.Nesta hides her winnowing practice and tries to reach the Prison alone, nearly drowning and sensing a presence call 'Find me.' Why does she keep this secret, and how does it connect to her search for purpose?
  2. 13.Eris warns Cassian about balance and Koschei, predicts Mor's mission to Vallahan will fail, and taunts Cassian about Nesta. Did Eris's warning feel genuine or manipulative, and what role does he play in the coming conflict?
  3. 14.At the end, Nesta steps through the Prison's bone gates and Gwydion vanishes from her hand, Elain leaves with Mor for Vallahan, and Azriel anonymously leaves his necklace for Gwyn. Which thread are you most eager to follow, and what does each suggest about the characters' search for purpose, escape, or connection?
