Dark Horse by C.R. Jane Book Cover
This character guide covers arcs across the whole book and may contain spoilers.

This is a small-town cast with a dark edge: a guarded newcomer, a possessive rancher, a charming sheriff with ugly secrets, and a bar full of locals who are either hiding something or trying to help. Sienna Blake and Sterling Hayes anchor the story, but the town around them matters just as much, from blunt Marvis and abrasive Babs to the seemingly harmless Harvey.

On this page you'll find every major and supporting character, with quick notes on their roles, personalities, relationships, and story arcs. The guide keeps the focus on who they are and how they fit into Blackwood, without giving away the ending.

Main Characters

Sienna Blake

Protagonist

A woman fleeing her abusive past who crashes into Big Hank on Main Street and is stranded in Blackwood. She is guarded, self-blaming, drawn to Sterling, and secretly carrying the truth that she killed her ex-husband. She works at the historical society and briefly at Dot's Diner while trying to leave town.
